Jean-Charles BLAIS - Detailed biography

Jean-Charles Blais was born in 1956 in Nantes. He studied from 1974 at the Art School of Rennes until 1979.

At the beginning of the 1980’s, he painted on torn posters and other material. In 1981, he participated to the “To end with beauty” exhibition, organized by Bernard Lamarche-Vadel, which exhibition formed the “Figuration libre” movement. He had a personal exhibition in 1987 at the Pompidou center in Paris. He realised in 1990 a giant frieze with printed posters on the « Assemblée Nationale » metro station walls, in Paris. Today, he dedicated himself to create works using numerical technologies.
